Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away.

So about a year and a half ago I went to a doctor about my liver enzymes. They were 67. They are suppose to be under 45. The doctor told me to diet. That I had "fatty liver". It means that my liver doesn't let the fat out to the rest of my body. I went to the doctor last Friday and for a hernia, and had blood work done to check my enzymes. The test came back 117. Yep a lot higher than they suppose to be. When I went to the doctor a year and a half ago he said you have to diet to get the fat out of your liver or you will get cirrhosis of the liver. Similar to what alcoholics get. For about 3 months I watched what I ate. I did really well. I lost about 15 pounds. Then one thing led to another and I quit watching it at all. It really woke me up this week when I got the results. So I am watching my fat. I have been doing really really well. Aman has been supportive. It also helps my best friend Jess is dieting and has really good low fat recipes. I am feeling good about the diet this time.

To add to the stress of the whole thing. David is to stop receiving his tube food. We have a weening plan to have David off his tube feedings by next week. Exciting and stressful. I promised David if he eats all regular food and stops the tube food we will go see Cars 2. It is coming out in June. I have to go weigh David on Monday to see if he lost weight. He is allowed to loose 10% of his body weight. Anymore than that and it will be cause for alarm. So I will weigh him and email his dietitian Sybil and his speech therapist Stacey to keep them posted on the progress. I will also post on here and let ya know if there has been much change.

  1. I know you can do this diet thing. You've done harder things already.

I get most of my vegetarian recipes from here: treehugger.com
There might even be some that Adam would eat. :)
