Friday update

Today is a good day. Adam helped me clean and vacuum the van out. Adam also voluntarily cleaned his room!!!!

David came home with a "Dr. Porkchop" formally known as ham from Toy Story. I am so glad it isn't a princess item!

Kindergarten!

We had David's reassessment at his grade school this week. We met with his therapist, social worker, teachers, aide, principal, and the school psychologist. We all talked of his testing and where he is at. They feel it is best for him to go to full Kindergarten next year. This is big. It means he won't be in a special class. It will be just Kindergarten. I am pretty excited for next year. If David gets into the year and needs some special help we will reassess him and figure it out. David will keep his developmental delay diagnosis until age 9 so if he needs it they can use it. How crazy awesome is that!!! I really wanted him to be able to handle a "normal" class. I am so hopeful for his future!

Rusty English

Aman's Uncle passed away yesterday. Rusty lived in Florida near Tampa. I never met Rusty but I have heard so many stories. I know he was certainly loved by his family. I also know he is the father to the sweetest happiest little girl.

I love this picture.

Valentine's Day Cards

They boys got three cards yesterday. You would have thought they won the lottery. One was from Aunt Jill. The other two were from Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Short. The boys opened them and I read them and they were so happy people loved them. The wanted to call Aunt Jill and tell her they loved her too. I think it made Aunt Jill's day. I would have let them call their great grandparents but Great Grandpa and Great Grandma don't really like to talk on the phone.
Enjoying their cards

He was reading it to me.

Jill

I have a sister. Her name is Jill. She is awesome. I love her and she makes me smile. Sometimes my sister isn't able to see her awesomeness. Jill is always there for people. She goes out of her way to help others. In her short life she has made a difference. Jill volunteers to make meals for people who can't get out of their homes.

Jill helps the high school girls at her church.
My sister always goes out of her way to make others feel special. Jill sends me care packages when I am down. She goes out of her way to spend time with her nephews.
Jill works hard at her job. Jill has helped many kids in the foster care system find homes. Lots of people love my sister. Jill is wonderful. If you have funny memories or just want to tell Jill you love her too. Please send her a email or comment on here for her to see it. She could use some encouragement.
Just thought I would throw this one in to make her smile.

Aman's Projects

So this week all the ice kept Aman around home.
So he worked on some of his projects he had to do.

The Farmall M

This use to belong to his Uncle Dave.

I am so glad we built the garage for him to work in. I can't imagine how he would handle being stuck in the house with this weather.

Yesterday you could see the road. The ice was still thick everywhere else.
Now there is inches of snow on top and it is still snowing.

Finally got painting

I am so bored with being stuck in the house. I decided to start a few projects I had been putting off. The boys rooms needed to be painted. So Aman and I took Adam to Walmart and he picked out the color he wanted. Adam picked the color orange for his room. Since Adam loves football we talked into Navy and Orange for the Chicago Bears.
David came home and saw I had painted orange. He was upset that I painted over the red that had been on the wall. He kept saying "Where did the red go?". I felt bad so we all packed up and went to Walmart. David picked out the red he liked. So while he was at school Monday I painted his room. We picked him up from school and we came in the house. I had to get Adam and some stuff out of the car so I didn't come all the way in the house with David. I put Adam on the couch and I could hear David yelling "MOMMA MOMMA MOMMA!" I went to see what was wrong. He took me to his room and said "Look it is beautiful!".
I had to paint around Sid and Super Why. That took forever.

David is on his second snow day this week. All the boys want to do is fight over toys. The satellite is iced over and not working.
Yesterday was a struggle.
Hopefully today will be much much better.
